Romney's Elitism Going to Cost Him ; COMMUNITY COMMENT

We're often told that the rich got rich because they're smarter with money than the poor. Earlier this year, a group of wealthy citizens shelled out $50,000 apiece to have a meal with Republican candidate Mitt Romney. This is roughly the same as the median income in this country - meaning half of Americans make $50,000 or less a year. So, since the rich are so smart with their money, what, exactly, did they get for their cash that day?

They blew more money in one night than many Americans make in a year, and all they got was some overpriced chicken and a whole lot of nothing.

See, Mitt Romney is going to lose this election, and it's going to be because he spent too much time with those willing to spend $50,000 on nothing that matters - like his campaign - rather than with those who wish they had $50,000 to spend on something that matters - like food and housing.

He's going to lose because he understands wealth, but has no clue about the poor. And so, those rich donors of his have simply wasted their money. Mitt Romney will never be president of the United States.

Thanks to a videotape of the event, we've been given insight into what Gov. Romney really feels about poor and working class Americans.

He's come under fire for his remarks stating that the 47% of Americans who pay no income taxes - usually because they make too little money - are dependent on the government, will vote for Obama no matter what, and aren't taking responsibility for their own lives.

Of course, that 47% also includes 18,000 or so citizens who make over $500,000 a year - hard to see how they might be dependent on the government. It also includes seniors, who are leaning in favor of Romney.

It includes poor southerners, who receive federal aid but plan to vote for Mitt because they are anti-gay, anti-abortion, or just anti-Obama. …
