Evansville, Ind. Rev. Edward C. Susat, 97, of Evansville, died Friday, October 12, 2012, at Deaconess Hospice Care Center. He was born August 1, 1915 in, Batavia, N. Y., to the late Charles and Ada Susat.

Edward graduated from Batavia High School, Buffalo State Teachers College, and Ohio State University. He taught three years in Puerto Rico, worked 12 years for Purdue University and worked 25 years for University of Evansville.

He served as chairman of Tri-State Regional Science Fair for many years, was active in Phi Delta Kappa and TKE Fraternity and was editor of the Journal of Cooperative Education for three years.

Edward was a member of Old North UMC and served as a Sunday school teacher and numerous committees. He also served as part- time pastor in Pleasant Chapel, Baker Chapel and Old North UMC. He served two terms as conference lay leader of Southwestern IN UMC Conference and was active in district lay activities. He enjoyed singing, participating in Glee Clubs and Choirs, and was in Savoyards Chorus in the Gilbert & Sullivan Productions. …
