Touring nature photo exhibit visits park

The Kentucky State Nature Preserves Commission has put together a photo exhibit as part of its 35th anniversary celebration.

The exhibit of nature photographs is touring the state.

The photos are printed on aluminum to give them a unique look. The exhibit went on display Monday on the main level of the museum at the John James Audubon State Park in Henderson. The exhibit will remain there until Dec. 22.


Local candidate forum set at scout council

Candidates in local races for Indiana House and Senate seats have been invited to a forum Wednesday about issues facing people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.

The event at 6 p.m. Wednesday is sponsored by Evansville ARC and The Arc of Indiana. It will be at the Boy Scouts of America/Buffalo Trace Council Eykamp Center, 3501 E. Lloyd Expressway, and it is open to the public.

Warm, clear weather likely to leave Wednesday

Today's weather will feature clear skies and climbing temperatures before a chance of storms returns on Wednesday.

That's the summary of the next few days according to the National Weather Service's forecast for Evansville. Beautiful conditions are expected today, with temperatures climbing into the upper 70s and, in some spots, even the lower 80s.

By Wednesday afternoon, however, a cold front will start to make its way through the region, with an 80 percent chance of precipitation on tap for Wednesday night.

High temperatures from Thursday through Sunday (the end of the current forecast period) will stay in the 60s.

Evansville's official rain total from Sunday was 0.15 inches- 0.11 coming by way of a late-evening line of storms that swept through the city.


School invites families to school writing night
