For two new businesses in Newburgh, becoming members of the Warrick County Chamber of Commerce has opened up many networking opportunities. Such was the case on Feb. 19 for the owners of Anytime Fitness and Penn Station East Coast Subs. On this night, both opened their doors and invited all the members of the Chamber to join them when they co-hosted a Warrick County Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours event.

At 5:30, the evening kicked off at Anytime Fitness. Waiting to greet their new guests were owner Linda O'Neill, manager Patrick O'Neill and marketing coordinator Alicen Holden.

Also greeting guests was Shari Sherman, executive director for the Warrick County Chamber of Commerce. She and Tiffany Conroy, chamber member services, were on hand to meet everyone as they came in the doors.

The Warrick County Chamber of Commerce, founded in 1975 by a group of local business people, is a treasure trove of information for anyone who lives or has lived in Warrick County. Being a member of the Chamber affords business owners opportunities to help expand their areas of expertise.

Whether it is helping to promote a business, educational training, legislative efforts or opportunities to connect with other business owners, the Warrick Chamber is right around the corner with more than 30 years of experience assisting businesses in the county.

"I think these Warrick Chamber Business After Hours events are a great way for business leaders to connect with other businesses in an informal way," Sherman said. "Building company relationships is an important part of doing business. For me, it's an opportunity to connect with our chamber members."

The private classroom at Anytime Fitness was awash in balloons in the company's signature colors of purple and white. The large table boasted goody bags for guests as well as fresh fruit to nibble on while meeting other professional people.

Linda O'Neill has a passion for helping other people obtain their fitness goals. Her main goal on this night was to educate other business owners on the need for wellness programs for their employees.

"Small businesses need wellness programs too," O'Neill said. …
