Fort Branch, Ind. Norman V. Schmitt, 89, of Fort Branch, Ind., passed away Monday, May 13, 2013, at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton, Ind.

He was born to the late Henry V. and Theresia (Weis) Schmitt on Oct. 2, 1923, in Gibson Co., Ind.

Besides his parents he is also preceded in death by his wife, Agnes M. (Peter) Schmitt, in 2001; and a brother, Richard Schmitt.

Norman was retired from the Emge Meat Packing Co. after 42 years of service. He was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fort Branch, Ind., the Haubstadt Knights of Columbus, the Haubstadt Knights of St. John, and had been an assistant scout master for six years.

Norman is survived by four children, Kenneth R. (Bobbi) Schmitt, of Haubstadt, Ind., Dennis (Debra) Schmitt, of Fort Branch, Ind., Keith A. (Tonya) Schmitt, of Evansville, Ind., and Donald P. (Dawn) Schmitt, of Owensville, Ind.; two sisters and one brother, Florentine Wittman, of Scottsdale, Ariz., Bertha Robling, of Evansville, Ind. …
