Evansville, Ind. Sally Willard Walker Yocum, died June 6, 2013. Her death on her 91st birthday gives great meaning to the expression "coming full circle."

Born in New York City, Sally Alexander Willard and her two sisters, June and Doris were raised in Scarsdale, New York, by her parents, Dorothy and Frank Willard. She went to Emma Willard Prep School and attended Swarthmore, Barnard, and Smith Colleges. She married Henry Walker Jr., in 1944, and moved to his hometown of Evansville, Indiana, where they raised their three children. Sally served many civic organizations: Planned Parenthood, Evansville Day School, New Century Club, PTA, Junior League, and the Philharmonic Board. She was proud to be a Democrat, and a member of the Presbyterian Church. After her husband died, in 1965, of cancer, Sally got her B. A. at the University of Evansville, and then her M. S. W. at New York University. She followed her children west and settled in the Bay Area. …
