Oakland City, Ind. Michele Buck was promoted to Heaven Friday April 26, 2013!

She was born October 17, 1950, in Whiteland, Indiana, to William Curtis and Peggy Jean Hicks.

Michele worked at Eli Lilly in Indianapolis, Indiana, until she met and married her beloved husband, and best friend, Jim Buck, a retired high school teacher and farmer in Oakland City, Indiana, where they currently have been residing for 39 years. Michele and Jim worked together on their farm and many lives were touched by them as they sold "mums and pumpkins" every fall to the community and surrounding area. People would drive for miles to get them.

Michele and Jim are blessed with two children, Kelly (Brad) Luedeke, of Columbus, Indiana, and Jason (Brooke) Buck, of Oakland City, Indiana; five grandchildren, Joshua Michael, Benjamin Andrew and Ava Grace Luedeke, Ragan Lynne and Rhyan Laine Buck. Also surviving are two sisters, Nita Roberts, of Akron, Ohio, and Lisa Walters, of Bargersville, Indiana; and one brother, Craig Hicks, of Greenwood, Indiana.; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Curtis and Peggy Jean Hicks.

Michele is a member of the "Body of Christ". She worshipped and served, wherever the Lord sent her. Her life, here on earth could be described as a "Christian in Action" at all times. She was a warrior for Jesus Christ, and her desire was to lead everyone she met to Him. She did that without having to say a word. She was an intercessor and general as she prayed for leaders of all capacity, on a local, city, and state level, and across the nation.

Her smile was infectious to everyone she met, and her greatest joy was to serve her husband, Jim, her children, her grandchildren, and the "Body of Christ".

She was an advocate for the unborn with supporting the "Right to Life" here in Southwest Indiana, and also supported many local charities in her hometown of Oakland City and the surrounding Tri- State area. …
