Aces Ink Croatian Transfer From' Nova ; Swingman Eligible in 2014

The University of Evansville men's basketball team has signed Mislav Brzoja, a transfer who will be eligible to join the Purple Aces in 2014. The native of Zagreb, Croatia, played at Villanova last season, his freshman year. He saw action in 17 games off the bench, scoring a total of four points while averaging 2.4 minutes per game.

Listed as a 6-foot-4, 205-pound guard, Brzoja is a swingman who can play as a point guard or on the wings. In a news release from the UE athletic department on Thursday, head coach Marty Simmons stressed the importance of his size on the perimeter.

"Mislav is an outstanding perimeter player who brings great size and skill level to our program," Simmons said. "His international play as well as the experience of playing in the Big East is something that we are excited about. Most importantly, he is a better person than a basketball player."
