Birthday and family

Clare Ziemer celebrated her birthday with family while brunching at Kirby's. Celebrating were Ted Ziemer Jr. (sitting, from left), Clare and grandson Ted Ziemer V, along with Lisa and Ted Ziemer IV (back, from left), grandson Sam Stratman, daughter Ellen Stratman and grandson Patrick Stratman.

The Evansville Museum was mostly inside because of the heavy rains. The Kuehn Terrace was open and when the rain stopped for a while, guests could step outside for music under the tent and a cool breeze. Among those enjoying the evening were Katie Cochren (from left), Cennet Braun, Matt Agan, Annie McKim and Andrew Smith.

LST return

Members of the Capt. Henry Vanderburgh Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution gathered at Inland Marina to await the arrival of the LST as she returned home from a 28-day cruise along the Ohio and Kanawha rivers. This year's guest speakers at Evansville's Diversity Lecture Series were Leigh Anne and Sean Tuohy, subjects of a best-selling book and the celebrated film "The Blind Side." Posing for a keepsake photo are Kathy Schoetlin, the Tuohys and Kathy's son Andrew and daughter Kayla.

Islamic Food Fair

The selections of Middle Eastern fare at the annual Islamic Food Fair were delightful at the mosque just east of Evansville off Indiana 66. Party of the Year

The sun did shine, it wasn't too wet to stay and guests at the Deaconess Party of the Year did play. Dr. Seuss was the theme of this year's fundraiser, sponsored by Deaconess Hospital, at the Fifth Third Bank Basketball Practice Facility on the campus of the University of Evansville. …
