Buddy Hield scored 18 points, Isaiah Cousins added 12 and the Sooners pulled away for a 78-56 victory over Texas A& MCorpus Christi on Thursday in a matinee that was rescheduled to start earlier because of concerns over bad weather. Hield hit eight of his 14 shots from the field and Cousins hit half of his 10. Overall, the Sooners (7-1) shot 45 percent as they wrapped up a three-game home stand, but the Islanders were colder at 38 percent.

Texas A& M-Corpus Christi (3-7) was led by 12 points from freshman Rashawn Thomas.

Oklahoma made nine of 22 3-pointers, five coming in the first half as the Sooners built a 42-24 lead. Guard Jordan Woodard hit two 3s as he and Hield led the Sooners with eight points each in the first half. Woodard finished with eight points.

The game was moved back five hours as poor weather hit the Midwest.

TCU 71, Mississippi State 61: Charles Hill Jr. scored 20 points, Kyan Anderson added 16 and Texas Christian beat Mississippi State 71-61 on Thursday night in the Big 12/SEC Challenge.

TCU (5-3) won for the fifth time in six games, jumping out to a 34-22 lead by halftime. The Horned Frogs led by 18 early in the second half, but the Bulldogs pulled within 59-56 on Roquez Johnson's putback with 2:24 remaining.

Mississippi State (5-2) lost for the first time at home this season. Craig Sword led the Bulldogs with 24 points on 9 of 12 shooting from the field.

Missouri 80, West Virginia 71: Jordan Clarkson scored 25 points and Jabari Brown added 18 to help Missouri defeat West Virginia 80- 71 Thursday night in the Big 12/SEC Challenge.

Missouri (8-0) extended its national-best homecourt winning streak to 23 games and has won 78 consecutive games at Mizzou Arena against nonconference competition.

Juwan Staten scored 16 points, while Gary Browne and Terry Henderson added 14 for West Virginia (6-3), which fell to 0-3 against power conference teams. …
