Illinois judge chosen to attend Army War College

Resident Wayne County Circuit Judge Kevin C. Kakac of Fairfield, Ill., has been selected to attend the Army War College at Carlisle Barracks,Pa.

Kakac holds the rank of lieutenant colonel in the Army Reserves and currently serves as the Division Staff Judge Advocate for the 102nd Training Division headquartered at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.

Each year, a number of people with the rank of colonel and lieutenant colonel are considered by a board for admission to the War College.

Approximately 800 students attend at any one time, half in a twoyear-long distance learning program, and the other half in an on- campus, full-time resident program lasting 10 months.

Kakac will attend the War College by way of distance education and two two-week, in-residence sessions at Carlisle Barracks. The War College provides graduate level instruction to senior military officers and civilians to prepare them for senior leadership assignments and responsibilities. …
