ABRAVE mum who survived a double transplant operation has walked down the aisle.

Luci Lewis married Peter Dean in a ceremony at Stockport Register Office where her son Aidan, eight, gave her away.

It ends a remarkable turnaround for the 30-year-old from Offerton who, just two years ago, underwent a kidney and pancreas transplant - a procedure with just a 25 per cent survival rate.

And as she waited for her life saving surgery she also split up from her first husband.

But all those days were forgotten as Luci and Peter tied the knot in front of friends and family before a reception at the Finger Post pub in Offerton. Luci said: "Along with having Aidan it was definitely the happiest day of my life. Peter makes me laugh and always cheers me up.

"I feel totally different to two years ago. I have a whole new life and a different outlook where I don't take anything for granted. …
