Dozens of Leads in Boy-Rape Case ; Public Help after Police Picture Appeal Victim, 14, Attacked in Debenhams Toilet

DETECTIVES investigating the rape of a 14-year-old boy in a department store toilet have been given dozens of names after releasing images of two suspects.

The teenager was abducted from the Manchester Arndale before being dragged to a toilet at Debenhams in Market Street, where he was threatened then raped by one of his two captors.

CCTV images of two men - one described as Asian and the other as white - were released in a bid to identify them.

Detectives have revealed they have received a positive response to the images and are working on new lines of inquiry as a result.

It is understood they have already been given dozens of names by members of the public who believe they recognise the man.

A police spokesman said: "We are continuing to investigate.

We would appeal for anyone who recognises the men, or anyone with information about the attack, to come forward."

The boy, who has been supported by specialist police officers and healthcare professionals, was initially approached by two men inside the Manchester Arndale across the road from Debenhams. …
