PARTYGOERS are being given tips on how to drink responsibly this Christmas - to avoid being sick or ending up in A&E. Experts at Manchester Mental Health and Social Care Trust say there are a number of easy ways for revellers to make sure they don't overdo it at the office party.

Public health development advisor Elizabeth Burns said: "For many people, Christmas is a time of year when they can let their hair down and have a few drinks.

"However, with all the parties and meals it is easy to drink too much if you don't keep an eye on your intake. It's a good idea to go out with a plan and a set limit of how much you are going to drink.

"You shouldn't feel pressured to match other people drinkfor- drink.

"You can always have a smaller glass or lower strength drink and if you feel embarrassed then there is no shame in making an excuse. …
