Hold on to Your Lucky Coat Fergie, It's (Almost) One of a Kind ; Sir Alex's Trademark Fleece No Longer on Sale

IT has been immortalised in bronze as Sir Alex Ferguson's 'lucky' coat.

But if the United boss hopes to replace that famous black jacket, he will find his luck may have changed.

The two-in-one coat, which features a fitted zip-up fleece lining for those chilly winter nights at Old Trafford and buttoneddown pockets, is no longer on sale.

The coat was made by Cole Haan, a subsidiary of the Reds kit sponsors Nike, and was picked up by Fergie a few seasons ago.

Since then, he has worn the coat on the touchline during many of the memorable victories by United. And when sculptor Philip Jackson was asked to immortalise Sir Alex for a statue at Old Trafford, he picked an image of the manager in his favourite coat to work from.

The statue was unveiled last month on the newly-named Sir Alex Ferguson, in honour of his incredible 26 trophy-laden years at the club. …
