WRG Creative Makes Pounds 1m Swoop in Far East to Buy Serious Events

BUY-AND-BUILD marketing firm WRG Creative has made its first foray into the Far East with a Pounds 1m swoop.

WRG, which has its headquarters in the Deva Centre, Trinity Way, Manchester, has bought Hong Kong outfit Serious Events.

Serious is an events management consultancy that works with luxury fashion brands in Asia, as well as the likes of Chanel, Cartier, Tiffany and Diageo.

It also has corporate clients such as Goldman Sachs, Bosch and Philips.

WRG said the acquisition was part of its strategy of tapping into the Chinese market and follows its purchase of Manchester events company Canyon in August.

Both deals come on the back of WRG receiving the backing of private equity firm LDC, which invested Pounds 12m for a stake in the business 12 months ago.
