Festival Rallies to Save Day as Star Falls Ill ; Local Restaurants Step in to Cook for Visitors Mark Addy Head Cook Is Recovering at Home

AFOOD festival was left in crisis after special guest chef Robert Owen Brown was rushed into hospital with severe chest pains.

The executive chef at the Mark Addy had been due to run a pop-up restaurant at the Prestwich Food and Festival on Sunday.

But he was rushed to hospital and has now been diagnosed with the heart condition supraventricular tachycardia.

Robert, who is now recovering at home, said: "It was horrible but I am fine now."

And the show went on without him after organiser Noel Goulding drafted in local restauranteurs.

Lawrence Tottingham, who runs Aumbry, and Marc Cooper, who runs Marc Cooper Catering, stepped up to the plate and made sure everyone was well fed.

Noel said: "We were setting up at 9am when we got the call that Robert had been taken to hospital.

"Obviously, we were very shocked and our first thoughts were with him. But fortunately I spoke to him and he was doing OK.

"I had to ask two of our local restaurants to wade in and help. …
