Davies Warns Wanderers to Guard Pal Diouf

KEVIN Davies has warned his team-mates to guard against a former Reebok cult hero when Wanderers return to Championship action against Leeds tonight.

Bolton badly need victory to kick-start their season and old boy El Hadji Diouf is out to scupper their chances.

The controversial Senegalese star quickly became a Bolton fans' favourite, even though he was reviled on most opposition grounds.

Leeds boss Neil Warnock, then in charge of QPR, previously described his 31-year-old striker as a 'sewer rat' after an FA Cup tie against Blackburn in January 2011.

However, old differences have been patched up and Diouf has won over Leeds supporters with his performances.

"I'm looking forward to seeing Dioufy again," said Davies. "And I'm sure the fans are.

"He was a bit of a cult character around here.

"He's still living in the town and you see him most days shining around. He's a character.

"But he's also playing well so we know we need to look out."

Diouf struck twice in his team's 3-2 win at Bristol City last weekend while Wanderers lost 1-0 to a dubious Crystal Palace penalty. …
