Gold Medal for Halsted ; Olympic Work Brings Record Revenues Haul Flooring Specialist's Pounds 1m Radcliffe Investment

FLOORING firm James Halstead enjoyed another record year after bagging a series of Olympic projects.

And the Radcliffe firm hopes to continue to reap the rewards by securing work to convert London 2012 venues following the Games. For the year to June 30, it reported an increase in revenues from Pounds 214m to Pounds 226.3m, with pre-tax profits rising from Pounds 38.4m to Pounds 42.7m.

The commercial flooring specialist continued to invest for growth, spending Pounds 1m on a new R&D centre at its Radcliffe headquarters.

Chairman Geoffrey Halstead said: "We have seen modest revenue growth in comparison to previous years, but I think this is very commendable in the prevailing market conditions. "We have benefited from building work associated with the Olympic venues and as these are converted to other uses we expect some continued activity."

Halstead made the flooring for Team GB's base, as well as a series of bars, restaurants and toilets across Olympic Park. …
