TONY Hand is back at the helm as Manchester Phoenix look to consign last Sunday's shock defeat to basement side Telford Tigers to the pages of history.

The 45-year-old Scot missed last Saturday's victory over Peterborough Phantoms as well as the mauling in Shropshire while in Japan with his Great Britain squad.

Having led GB to the final qualification round for the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, the inspirational player-head coach is now fully focused on the pursuit of domestic silverware.

The Phoenix are at thirdplaced Milton Keynes Lightning tonight before entertaining Swindon Wildcats tomorrow evening, with Hand expecting a thorough workout.

"It is another tough weekend for us, but we have had a good week of training and are focused on good results," he said. "It is always difficult in Milton Keynes but we are a match for any team and go there in good spirits."

The Phoenix welcome Swindon Wildcats to Altrincham on Sunday for a contest, which tends to have a physical edge and be packed full of goals and incident. …
