Pupils' Winning Anti-Cig Film Is an Internet Hit ; Two-Minute Clip Gets 12,000 Views on YouTube

SCHOOL pupils are urging other students not to smoke - through a hit video viewed more than 12,000 times on YouTube. Sale Grammar School students Rena Ayoubi and Chloe Ramsey, both 15, made a short film showing the dangers of smoking. They uploaded their twominute clip to YouTube and entered it into a regional competition, the North West Cut Film Awards. The film proved an instant hit - and has now been watched more than 12,000 times on the internet. The students also did well in the contest, scooping the Greater Manchester popular choice award. They were presented with their awards at The Odeon, Printworks, in Manchester city centre by Waterloo Road actor Jack McMullen and Hollyoaks's Alice Barlow. Forty-five films were entered from across the north west - and more than 1,000 people voted for their favourite. Rena said: "I am so pleased to have won an award.

My friend and I made the film because we love filmmaking, and we thought that anti-smoking was a good message to be sending to young people. …
