Dale Don't Fear the Drop, Says Boss Hill

KEITH Hill is not setting a points target for safety - but feels his Rochdale side need not fear the drop.

Dale host play-off chasing Southend United tomorrow looking for only their second win in eight games but the manager is confident they'll have no problems avoiding relegation.

"Points target for safety? I'm not too sure - everybody's winning," he said after Tuesday's 1-1 draw against leaders Gillingham, which put them six points clear of the bottom two.

"Whatever it takes to be one place above the bottom two. I don't think it'll come to that, I think that we can get the results that we need."

George Donnelly scored his third goal in four games against the Gills and Hill has challenged the striker to replicate that performance if he wants to keep the shirt.

"It was a super finish but what pleased me more was his physical contribution throughout.

That'll keep him on the pitch," he said.

Enthusiasm Donnelly has only played a full 90 minutes twice since the beginning of February and was substituted during the weekend defeat at Bristol Rovers. …
