BURY boss Kevin Blackwell has vowed to see the Shakers' survival bid through to its conclusion.

Since taking charge in September, Blackwell has galvanised the squad and given them a fighting chance of climbing out of the drop zone.

Along with his record at Leeds, Sheffield United and Luton, that has put Blackwell back on the radar when managerial vacancies have come up.

But Blackwell insists he is committed to keeping Bury in League One.

"I've been short-listed for jobs but I've taken no notice of it because I've got a big job here - and this is a big job," he said.

"My record before I came here is very good. I think I can produce teams and I know what I'm doing."

After the club's transfer embargo was lifted earlier this month, Blackwell now feels he is getting help.

Although finances remain tight, the Bury board have done all they can to boost Blackwell's squad for the run-in, bringing in Ashley Eastham, Stephane Zubar and Nicky Ajose on loan last week. …
