Coleman Seeing Red as Dale Can't Stop Rot

ROCHDALE boss John Coleman is demanding a positive reaction from his side when they travel to mid-table Dagenham and Redbridge tomorrow.

The manager was furious after their 1-0 defeat to then bottom club AFC Wimbledon on Saturday and will not tolerate any more performances of that ilk if they are to challenge for one of the playoff spots.

Dale are still only four points off the top seven despite a run of seven defeats in nine games but they need to get rid of the inconsistency which has seen them slip from challenging for a place in the top three into 12th place.

"We can't keep turning in performances like that," said Coleman. "It was especially damaging with it coming after a good win against Cheltenham.

"We've looked at the game and we've made it clear to the players in no uncertain terms where we need to improve.

"It's frustrating for the management, the players and the fans. It's got to stop and the only people that can make that happen is ourselves."

Coleman, who came to Spotland last January and is on a one-year rolling deal, has faced criticism from a section of his own fans and is under pressure to turn it around at Spotland. …
