HULL KR 26 WARRINGTON 12 WARRINGTON coach Tony Smith was disappointed at losing his unbeaten start to the season - but admitted his side did not click at Hull KR.

"We weren't quite sharp enough and didn't start the game as we would have liked," Smith said.

"We did well to fight back and go in at half-time with a lead.

"They had some things they were trying to get over and they were desperate. It showed in the way they played and sometimes desperate like that can be enough."

Smith felt his side would face a determined Rovers side, who threw away a 20-point lead in their 38-34 defeat at Salford last week.

"We understood they would be up for it after a tough week," Smith said.

"We needed to be a lot better disciplined and we needed to control where the game was played.

"When you come to Hull KR, it's a tough place to go to. …
