SWINTON'S assistant player-coach Ian Watson admits he wasn't happy with just the bonus point the Lions won against Halifax on Sunday.

It lifted them up one place in the Championship table to 11th, but Watson believes they should have ended the Yorkshire side's unbeaten record in 2013.

"We were very positive about the way we played and we were a disappointed team coming home," said Watson, who is in charge of team affairs while the club are searching for a new coach.

"We laid it on the line before the game by saying we were going there for a win and not just for a bonus point or a good performance.

"If we had been a little bit more clinical and shifted the ball a bit better we would have troubled them more and got the win.

"Defensively the players' attitude was first class. Halifax scored some tries out wide and from kicks, and the quicker we can eradicate that the better we will be. But we have improved and we are getting there."

Chas I'Anson returned for his first game of the season but lasted only a couple of minutes before being sin-binned and Watson added: "Losing Chas was a key moment. …
