ROCHDALE boss Keith Hill prepared for today's home game with Aldershot by admitting he was grateful for a postponement at this late stage of the season.

Dale should have played against Southend at Spotland last Saturday, only for the recent cold snap to postpone proceedings.

It would have been their fifth game in 15 days but at least it gave Hill's players the chance to recharge their batteries ahead of the run-in.

"I think we were ready for the game," said the Dale boss.

"We'd prepared well and we were expecting it to be on so it was a bit of a surprise when it wasn't.

"I think the players were really looking forward to it so there was some disappointment but it was good to get some time off because the fixture list has been quite hectic.

"We've trained well this week, there's been a lot of enthusiasm, a lot of energy and hopefully we'll take that into the last seven games. …
