Jimmy Will Be Ready for Test Series Decider

CRICKET Lancashire's Jimmy Anderson is fit to help England try and secure a series win in the final Test against New Zealand, writes CHRIS OSTICK.

The Red Rose bowler complained of pain in both his back and his heel while bowling 30 overs in the weather-hit second Test, which finished as a draw in Wellington.

With the series tied, the two sides now move to Auckland for a winner-takes-all final Test starting on Thursday. And although it will mean playing three Tests in three weeks, skipper Alistair Cook believes Anderson - who is England's all-time leading international wicket-taker - will be fit enough to play in the series decider.

"Jimmy is suffering from a few niggles, a bit of wear and tear from bowling 30 overs - and as he keeps reminding me, only seven of them with the wind behind him," said Cook.

"Stuff like that goes unnoticed. When you're watching on TV, you don't feel how strong the wind is.

"But you only have to stand at slip, thinking he's got to run into that - and he never really complained, not on the pitch anyway. …
