Tributes to Music Girl, 15, Found Dead in Woodland ; Family Is Ripped Apart, Says Devastated Dad

TRIBUTES have poured in for a 15-year-old Manchester student who was found dead in woodland near her home.

The body of Helena Farrell was found at a beauty spot in Cumbria less than half a mile from where she lived.

Talented Helena studied at the Royal Northern College of Music, on Oxford Road, and dreamed of becoming a professional musician.

She was described as an accomplished singer and cellist and scores of tributes have been paid to her. In a statement, Helena's devastated family, from Kendal, told of their anguish.

They said: "Helena Farrell, 15, the beautiful, loved and cherished daughter of Enda and Maria Farrell and sister of Declan Farrell died tragically on Friday night.

"The family have requested privacy at this time."

A YouTube tribute video showing a montage of pictures of the popular teenager has already attracted more than 20,000 views. Commenting on the video, her father added: "This beautiful girl is my daughter Helena, and she was the light of my life. …
