DIDSBURY fell victim to the brilliance of former MCC Young Cricketer Andy Clarke as Neston continued their fast start in the Vivio Cheshire County League Premier League.

Clarke smashed 100 not out at the Wilmslow Road ground in Neston's total of 269-3 and then took 5-69 with the ball in Didsbury's 204 all out to wrap up a 65-run win.

That puts Neston 17 points clear at the top while Didsbury have slid to fourth from bottom.

Marple are third, although their recent run of victories was halted by Oxton's tailenders at Bowden Lane. In a tight game, Marple closed on 182-8, and in reply Oxton finished on 178-9 with both sides tantalisingly close to the win.

Improving Alderley Edge won by three wickets at Bowdon, who continue to struggle.

There was high scoring but no definite result on a near perfect Nantwich wicket where the champions saw their three-win run ended by Hyde.
