ALEGAL executive has been banned from the road - after she was caught nearly three times over the drink-drive limit.

Diane Conway, 40, was arrested after she had gone out to celebrate the end of a long trial at Manchester Crown Court.

She was found slumped over the wheel after nearly reversing into another car in the city centre.

Manchester Magistrates' Court heard she had earlier been with colleagues in a bar close to the crown court - and had to be helped out of her car.

Conway, who has a young child, admitted to officers that she had been boozing - and told them: 'I'm sorry I have had a couple of drinks'.

But she was almost three times over the legal drink-drive limit, the court was told.

Conway sobbed with her head in her hands as her lawyer Gwyn Lewis told of her downfall - and blamed her colleague for topping up her drinks without her knowledge. …
