Sinnott Committed to New Robins Promotion Bid

LEE Sinnott insists Altrincham are heading in the right direction despite missing out on promotion back to the Blue Square Premier.

The Robins' bid to return to non-League's top flight came to an end on Saturday as they were knocked out of the Blue Square North play-offs by Brackley.

At his own request, Sinnott hasn't had a contract at Moss Lane since being appointed manager two years ago, but he is committed to leading Alty into the 2013/14 campaign.

"You live and learn from these experiences," he said. "It makes you more determined and more focused to build on what we've done this season. That can't be forgotten because sometimes disappointment can cloud what progress you've made.

"It's been a season of progression. If you look at the last two years - the club coming out of the Conference and new management taking over, there was a lot of players coming in and going out.

"It was a case of steadying the ship, pointing it in the right direction and starting to make strides, which I thought we did towards the end of last season. …
