MANCHESTER Airport's Royal Lounge has been given a baby-friendly makeover - in preparation for Prince William and Kate's first child.

Bosses are decking out their luxury suite with a crib, teddy bears and changing facilities ahead of the anticipated July birth.

Design plans won't be finalised until they know the sex of the baby, but bosses have decided to get ahead by investing in a selection of pink and blue dummies.

The revamp follows a recent Pounds 20,000 investment in the lounge, which is used by a select group of A-list politicians, celebrities and royals. They installed new furniture, televisions, LS Lowry prints and even magazines featuring coverage of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's wedding. Each item had to be dismantled and screened by a security team, using keyhole cameras, and the whole room undergoes an intense security check ahead of each visit.

The royal couple regularly fly from Manchester Airport because Prince William is stationed at the RAF base in Anglesey in north Wales. …
