Mega Fan Becks Back at United - to Stock Up on Shirts ; Reds Legend Surprises Supporters at Club Shop

HIS name was once on the back of thousands of United shirts.

But these days David Beckham is just one of the fans who follow the team - and he proved it by popping into the club shop to buy a stack of Reds kit.

The United legend was spotted by astonished supporters at the Old Trafford Megastore yesterday afternoon - with many of them so stunned to see him that they had to do a double take.

He was back at the club 22 years to the day after he signed as a trainee - and former team-mates Paul Scholes and Gary Neville were also seen at the stadium.

The trio joined United as fresh-faced teenagers on July 8, 1991, and went on to become alltime greats.

Kenny Smith, 46, a sound engineer who works at Old Trafford, snapped Becks on his phone when he saw him come into the Megastore.

Kenny told the M.E.N: "He just pulled up in his car and went in. He was with Gary Neville and Paul Scholes. He was brilliant with everyone. He bought quite a few different tops, including children's ones and a goalkeeper's top and some training ones. …
