HE'S from Manchester and has appeared on Wimbledon's show courts more times this year than Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Andy Murray put together.

But, unlike those household names, the chances are you won't have heard of Scott Noble.

That's because the 25-year-old is a tennis line umpire, charged with deciding in a split second whether a ball hit at anything up to 155mph lands in or out.

Inspired by his father Tony who also worked at Wimbledon as a line umpire, Scott started officiating seven years ago at minor tournaments.

He has risen through the ranks to achieve L2 status, the second highest of five grades ranging from L1 down to L5.

That means he gets to work at Wimbledon's big matches where the world can hear his every shout.
