Family Tributes to Property Tycoon Found Dead at Home ; Grandfather Founded Successful Housing firmSon Says United Fan Was 'A Real Character'

APROPERTY tycoon and award-winning builder has been found dead at his luxury home.

Don Kennedy, 64, was discovered hanging at his house in the Heaton area of Bolton.

Police confirmed the death is not being treated as suspicious and a file of evidence is being prepared for a coroner.

Mr Kennedy, a father-of-two with four grandchildren, founded Kennedy Homes Ltd in Bolton more than 30 years ago.

The family business specialises in bespoke home builds and improvements across Bolton and Manchester.

Police were called to his home, The Morelands complex off Chorley New Road, at 11.45am on Monday.

Mr Kennedy's son Nick, 37, paid tribute to 'a real character'.

He said: "He was a master builder by trade and the company is very successful. The last development we did won a best small housing award. He was a very funny, very witty and very clever man.

"He was a real character who was very well-liked and respected in the community."

Mr Kennedy, a Manchester United fan, was a member at Bolton Old Links Golf Club, where the club's flag has been flown at half-mast in tribute. …
