LOOSE WOMEN has been a major part of my life for 10 years so I'm sure you can imagine it was with great sadness that I walked away from the show on Friday.

However, sometimes your heart dictates the direction you must take and this was one of those occasions.

There were many reasons for my leaving so suddenly but basically the new bosses wanted a change of direction. Some of those changes I agreed with and some I didn't.

After giving so much of your life to something, being fiercely loyal to the programme and sharing some of the most private memories with the amazing viewers, I felt my feelings and opinions could at least have been considered by the new boss.

Sadly, they were not, so to be true to myself I chose to leave.

If I had stayed, the wonderful memories of the last decade would have been tarnished.

As I sit writing this in the Buddha and wind-chime filled garden of my friends' home in Majorca, I have never felt more sure of a decision in my life.

I had incredible messages from people who will miss me on the show and, of course, several from those who will be thrilled to see the back of me!

Because the "loose women" gave so much of themselves, the audiences laugh and cry along with us and so they decide who they like and who they do not and they certainly were not afraid to say so!

There are many stand-out memories for me.

Probably the most emotional time was when I came out of the Big Brother house. I had won the show and so should have been on cloud nine.

Happy times - Women Andrea Coleen Nolan and However, although I'm forever grateful and touched that people voted for a middle-aged woman on the edge of a nervous breakdown, I was in a bad place.

The Loose Women viewers stuck by me through that time and I will never forget that. It was a tough decision to announce my separation from my then husband Tim Healy live on the show, but the response was overwhelming and is bringing a tear to my eye now as I write. …
