DEFIANT Jeff Jones says Manchester Giants will keep fighting to put their troubled start to the BBL season behind them.

And he is adamant the club won't be diverted from their path to build the club for the long-term by 'naysayers'.

The Giants face the powerhouse Newcastle Eagles at Wright Robinson tomorrow (5.30pm) with a 0-3 record.

Jones says his men won't shirk from the job.

"It is a tough task and we have to fight to get through it," he said.

"It's not any easy week for us with Newcastle then Worcester in the Cup.

"But we are working hard and keeping everyone buoyant."

Jones has had a few vocal critics among the club's support about the strength of the squad assembled for their second season back in the top flight.

But he says the club is working hard to find new funds to bolster it after a pre-season deal with a would-be sponsor fell through at the last minute. …
