School Moves into a Bright New Era ; New Site at Home of Former Primary

PLANS to build a new base for one of Manchester's leading schools for children with learning and physical disabilities have been unveiled.

Camberwell Park Specialist School is set to have a new school building constructed at the former Moston Fields Primary School site, on Moston Lane. The move, if given the go-ahead by town hall planners, will be the latest in a relocation merry-goround which will eventually see four north Manchester schools change sites. Pupils are scheduled to move into the new building - which will feature a new hi-tech hydrotherapy pools and physiotherapy facilities - in March 2015.

Headteacher Mary Isherwood said pupils and staff were relishing the prospect of moving to their new home. She said: "Our whole school community is delighted to be having a new school building in Moston. Being in Moston will give our children lots of new opportunities including close links with the local schools and other community groups.

"The new school building and its grounds will also provide us with enhanced and new facilities to ensure we can continue to give our children the outstanding education they deserve. …
