ADNAN Januzaj is a beacon of light in a troubled campaign for United.

The Belgian-born midfielder has been one of the plusses inked in on David Moyes' credit column in his early days as the Reds' boss.

Though it was Sir Alex Ferguson who gave the 18-year-old his first team number last season and rubber-stamped the start of contract negotiations, it has been Moyes who gave him his platform that convinced the ex-Anderlecht youth player that Old Trafford was the best stage for his future.

After fears of a Paul Pogba-style defection, Januzaj has signed a fiveyear deal to keep him at the club until 2018.

Two goals at Sunderland, shrugging off Southampton's intimidating tactics on Saturday plus quality vision to help set up United's goal has further added to his stock.
