WIGAN 2 HUDDERSFIELD 1 WIGAN boss Owen Coyle saw on-loan star Nick Powell score another priceless goal for the Latics - then backed the United youngster to go on and shine for the Reds and England.

Powell fired the winner for Wigan in a hardfought encounter at the DW Stadium to maintain his fine run of form since joining the club on loan at at the start of the season.

"Nick took his goal fantastically well,Coyle said.

He's a terrific talent and I certainly believe he will go on to play at the highest level both for United and England."

Wigan led through Leon Barnett's third goal of the season at the beginning of the second period before Oliver Norwood drew Huddersfield level.

Coyle admitted his side had to dig deep but insisted they were good value for a first win in five matches.
