Bring Piccadilly Gardens Back to Its Former Glory ; Viewpoints

IT is great that so many big events are being hosted by Manchester and bringing millions into the city. However, like many others I am still concerned over the amount of litter on our streets, not only in the city centre but surrounding areas as well. When is the council going to spend the Pounds 15m fund they revealed would be used to spruce up and clean the city? In Piccadilly Gardens there is a council notice saying, "Our city is changing and we'd like your views." Why? Because they never take any notice. How about these for some views. Firstly, demolish that hideous Berlin Wall.

I cannot believe council tax-payers' money (mine included) was paid for somebody to design this monstrosity.

What an eyesore. Secondly, give us back some of the beautiful floral displays there used to be.

You only have to look at photos from the 70s and 80s to see these. Piccadilly Gardens is the first thing visitors see coming into our city. It should sparkle like a jewel in the crown, with flowers, hanging baskets, decent seating, one large fountain, and no litter. …
