Dickinson Hoping to Make Lasting Return

IT may not have been a dream return but there was no doubt Liam Dickinson was just glad to be back playing at the weekend, writes GAVIN BROWNE.

Stockport's prodigal son came off the bench for his second coming during the second half of the Hatters' 4-1 defeat at Oxford City.

Having been training with Oldham Athletic, the 29-year-old put pen to paper with County last Friday.

Whether he stays longer than his initial month is open to question but, for now, he's just happy to be back after an injury- ruined last couple of years.

"I'm positive it's going to work out," Dickinson said. "Sometimes you have to grind out results and we have the potential and the team to do that.

"I'm here for a month initially but who knows? The main thing is for me to get some game time and help the players.

"It's been hard for me but it's looking bright at the moment. I've been training with the lads for the majority of the season and I'm over the moon to be back playing with them. …
