HENRY Thomas is wrestling with the biggest decision of his career as he weighs up whether to sign a new contract with Sale or seek a fresh start away from Manchester.

The England prop's current deal at Sale runs out in May and as a result, the 22-year-old has suddenly become one of the most sought- after players in the game. Having nurtured his development from raw rookie into one of the Premiership's most talented young English forwards over the past few years, Sale boss Steve Diamond is desperate for Thomas to stay. But a posse of other clubs - notably Bath where Thomas's family hail from and still live - are keen to lure him away from the North West, much to the concern of Diamond not to mention Sale's fans. However, Thomas - who was capped by England for the first time on their summer tour of Argentina and is fighting his way back to fitness from a rib injury - says he won't rush a decision and will wait until into the New Year before finally making his mind up. "I'm aware there's a lot of speculation about my future but you've got to try and ignore it," Thomas declared. "In a way, I take it as a bit of a complement that people are talking about me. "It's my fourth season here now and I absolutely love it in Manchester but its the first time that I've been in a situation where my contract is up. "I have never made this type of decision before and it will be based on how I feel I can improve the most as a player. "I love being at Sale and I love living in Manchester. I have a lot of friends here so looking to the future for me its a massive time in my career at 22. "This is a period now where improvements need to be made so I can try and push on to be an international player.
