IN response to Steven Hill's letter urging readers to sympathise with public transport workers who also want to spend time with their families on Christmas Day and Boxing Day (We need a break, too, Viewpoints, January 9), I have to agree with Mr Hill. It is totally selfish to expect bus drivers and other public transport workers to leave families on Christmas Day. Christmas day comes once a year and everyone has the right to be with their loved ones. We have the whole year to plan to visit our families so use the year wisely to plan ahead. Kelly Kane, Salford I WOULD like to reply to Steven Hill's letter when he says public transport workers should not be away from their loved ones over the festive period. Does he not think that hospital staff, police, fire brigade staff etc would also like to spend time with their families. …
