ICE HOCKEY AARON FLANAGAN MANCHESTER Phoenix will be looking to secure a vital four points this weekend as they hope to secure their firm grip on the Premier League top spot this weekend.

Phoenix, whose win over Slough Jets last week took them to the summit, face two tricky tasks however, with the Jets looking for revenge tonight and Milton Keynes Lightning hoping to secure their third victory in a month over Phoenix.

Phoenix have succumbed to Lightning twice since Christmas, both 7- 2 away defeats, and they will be looking to set the record straight again when they host them in Altrincham on Sunday evening.

Before that, however, Phoenix travel to Slough where they will take on a Jets side keen to avenge a 7-2 loss of their own.

Head coach Tony Hand believes that his side need to replicate the professional job his side did last week.

He said: "I was happy for stages of the match. I think we got sloppy in parts but every game is always going to be tough and I am just happy we managed to get the two points. …
