'LOW-LIFE SCUM' RAID OLD PEOPLE'S HOME ; Hunt for Four Cowards Who Stole Cash and Jewellery from Terrified Elderly Residents

COWARDLY masked robbers smashed their way into a nursing home and stole jewellery from elderly and frail residents.

A gang of four men terrorised pensioners, their families and carers at Pendleton Court in Salford.

There were more than 50 residents and their visiting loved ones inside. No one was seriously injured but the attack left the victims terrified.

Detectives branded the raid 'outrageous' and have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

The mayor of Salford, Ian Stewart, described the gang as 'disgusting thugs' and 'low-life scum'.

He said: "Residents and staff have been left very shaken up and distressed by this cowardly attack on their home. Their right to live and work in peace has been shattered by these disgusting thugs and they will remember this incident for a very long time. This despicable gang of low-life scum must be caught."

The robbers pulled up outside the home, on Chaplin Close, in a VW Golf reported stolen from Salford earlier this month. …
