Tears of Owner Whose Dog Attacked Woman and Boy ; Court Hears How Hero Neighbour Stabbed Vicious Animal to Death to Save Its Victims

Article excerpt

A MUM whose dog was stabbed to death by a hero neighbour after it mauled two people has admitted in court to allowing it to become dangerously out of control. Patricia Saunders pleaded guilty to two counts of failing to control her Rhodesian Ridgeback, Bruce, when it savaged a 14-year-old boy and a woman near her home in January this year.

Now a tearful Saunders, 58, has been told by magistrates that her case could be sent to a crown court for sentencing - meaning she could receive a more serious penalty.

Mark Siddall, prosecuting, told the court that teenager Kayne Kennedy had been playing with friends in a garden on Watoeeld Walk when the dog came out of Saunders' home and started snapping at the kids.
