A PILOT has been hailed a heroine after a flight from Manchester made an emergency landing during storms.

The woman pilot, who has not been named, was at the helm of the Aer Lingus plane to Cork, carrying 46 passengers from Manchester Airport, when it was hit by bad weather during landing.

She was forced to abort two landings before finally touching down on a third attempt on Thursday night, nearly 90 If you the flight call 0161 minutes late.
