Showing Our Irish Charm ; Dancers and Bands Head to Dublin Event Follows Successful Festival Last Year

ACULTURAL cohort from Manchester's thriving Irish community will travel to the Emerald Isle this month.

They will head to Dublin for a musical event featuring performers from both Manchester and Mayo.

Organised by Manchester Mayo Tourism based in Levenshulme, it will be a highlight of the city's fiveday Dublin Tradfest - the biggest festival of Irish music.

It follows the Manchester Mayo Gathering which took place in Ireland last year - becoming the biggest event to be organised in Ireland by a UK group.

Lawrence Hennigan, director of the tourism group, said: "We wanted to stage something in January to celebrate all the work that everyone has put into the 2013 Manchester Mayo Gathering.

"Dublin is already listed as one of Manchester's top ten holiday destinations and is just a short 30-minute journey by plane.

"The setting for the concert is fantastic, we could not have wished for a better venue, the acoustics are superb and the whole history of the building will just add to the significance of the event. …
